Extension of Fire Protection
Fire protection for one of the largest independent commodity traders
Crude oil comes in – petrol, diesel, heating oil, propylene, etc. come out. That’s basically what it comes down to in a refinery. Our client is one of the largest independent commodity traders in the world. Their main fields of activity are energy trading, handling, transport and storage of raw materials and petroleum products as well as the refining of crude oil.
Requirements
Refineries face special challenges and must not leave anything to chance when it comes to fire protection and emergency management. Fires in refineries pose a considerable risk to employees, residents, emergency services and the environment and result in high economic losses.
Our customer needed an additional, mains-independent fire pump unit with simple integration into the existing ring main system with existing, different pump houses.
Solution
A ready-to-use WideRange HD pump station with a V12 diesel engine rated at 1,000 hp with pump start-up valve and backflow preventer function and removable wall element for easy maintenance.
