Noise insulated fire fighting unit
Our client is responsible for the agricultural business of a group that operates in the fields of seeds, plant protection and professional pest control.
Requirements
Our customer employs around 620 people at Industriepark Höchst, some of whom handle flammable chemicals. The new fire extinguishing system not only had to be mains-independent and powerful, but also comply with the noise and vibration occupational health and safety regulations. At the same time, it had to take into account that in Hesse, medium-strong earthquakes occur about once every ten years, which can cause building damage and operational disruptions. Challenging requirements that we mastered with greatest skill!
Solution
Silenced capsule around the diesel engine and fire pump, with inspection openings for easy maintenance of the system. The engine’s operating indicators and controls, as well as the switchgear and heat exchanger, are also located outside the capsule. The exhaust fans are thermostatically controlled and designed for the heat radiation of the diesel engine in the sound insulation capsule. The entire system has a static certification for earthquake resistance.
