Fire Protection for Fractional Plant
Our client employs a total of 30,000 people who refine oilseeds, maize, wheat and cocoa into food, animal feed, industrial and renewable energy products.
A fractioning plant is located in the German town of Main in which soybean meal is washed out using light petrol.
Requirements
The regulations and standards for fire protection are very strict in the food industry. Dust in production, for example, increases the risk of explosion. Defective machine parts, foreign bodies or high processing temperatures can generate overheating, sparks or embers and cause fires or dust explosions.
Solution
In addition to two diesel fire pumps with a capacity of 990 mÂł/h each, we built, delivered and installed a pressure maintenance pump, two redundant foam concentrate pumps with diesel and electric drives as well as a foam concentrate proportioning system for foam concentrate AFFF 3 % including a foam concentrate storage tank for 25,000 litres. We also designed and installed the complete system piping with all fittings on site.
